New Year, New Group, New Goals... New You?

It's a new year and we often take this time to reflect on our years past and make a new beginning for the year to come. For many our new years goals are based around health and weight. This group will help you with those goals but I always like to add an extra challenge to help us work on our "inside" as well, in hopes that we can have the lasting results we want but also realize what our triggers are, why we want the change, what drives us to make that change happen and what is it that we need to make us our best selves.

So here's the deal, we only have a couple rules but it's really all about what you put in. I ask that you blog once a week, take a few minutes to go over your previous week and set goals for the next week (more on goals below). Again, you get what you put in, 10 word updates won't really get you support from the others and won't give you goals to own up to. Once a month we will weigh in and post our results. The top 3 women with the highest % lost will get a shout out on this blog and kudos from her peers! I've done this for money and the winnings definitely motivate you but they also detour people from joining, so we are giving it a shot with out a buy in. You will need to go to blogger.com and set up a blog, send me your blog address and I will make sure everybody has it so we can follow each others progress. I have learned so much from other women in these blogs and I still follow women that I was reading about a year ago. You can make friends and bonds with women from all over. We are all flawed and show a vulnerable side when talking of our hurdles and struggles but we all have something in common... We want to be our best self! We are a family, there is no judgement just a lot of encouragement and support!

Since it's the new year we often set New Years resolutions. While setting resolutions and goals is a great idea, writing them down is even better! According to a Harvard Business School study, written goals can translate into earnings of 10 times more than those who fail to establish goals or put them in writing. I came across this quote from another woman's blog by Mark Victor Hansen. He said, “By recording your dreams and goals on paper, you set in motion the process of becoming the person you MOST want to be.” I encourage you to list any and all goals you want for this year, this month and this week! There is no reason to keep this only about weight loss if you have other goals to reach along side it. Weight loss and being healthy may be your ultimate goal but there is a whole lot more to us on the inside then there is on the outside. You will be there to watch as I work on more then just my physical. Each of us is on our own journey, need different things, have different hurts to heal and have different goals to get us where we want to be.

We usually do this for 3 months and I am happy to add people as we go. In order to start you need to create a blog, write an initial blog about your goals and post your starting weight. Weigh in at the same time of day with about the same amount of clothes on each month, or even week if you want to track it weekly as I do. The monthly % is what gets posted. Feel free to email me if you have questions annieaubrey@gmail.com. You pick the day you want to post but we will each weigh in this month by the 9th and again on February 1st. It will be a short month and some will have more time to work if they get this done sooner then later.

I look forward to share this journey with you. You can all follow me at http://anniemalsadventures.blogspot.com/ I will be posting my starting weight and goals tomorrow. Happy New Year!
